CAVO - Car Accident Victims Organisation has been in operation since April 2002.
The charity has provided information, practical and emotional support to people directly affected by car accidents, their family and friends but also an ever increasing number of witnesses.
Since then the charity has supported people from the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, U.S.A, Germany, Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Peru and other countries from around the globe.
In 2009 we saw the biggest growth in requests for support with an increase from 7 new requests a week to over 297 a week.
We totally rely on the generosity of public donation which was less than £100 in 2009. As a national charity this is not enough to pay for the telephone line, let alone the costs of insurance, postage and other costs incurred with providing adequate support services to those in desperate need.
Sadly we have had to close the charity. We are aware that we have 2,989 ongoing cases. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause any of you.
Any further support may be obtained from Brake - the road safety charity.
Unfortunately, not all of our clients will be able to get support you need as we were the only charity available to support them.

Any assets that are available to sell have been sold to pay for the telephone debts.
Items that have been donated that are not allowed for resale have been donated to Centrepoint Outreach in Boston, Lincolnshire
